Programme Sustainability

To ensure everyone in Uganda has sustainable access to food as a basic human right, Food Rights Alliance will continue to focus on advancing the right to food and its non-variation for all in the next 5 years (2019-2023). Tackling hunger, crisis and extreme poverty through a range of programming options within sustainable farming systems including food security and nutrition needs.

The right to food, and its non-variations, is a human right protecting the right for people to feed themselves in dignity, implying that sufficient food is available, that people have the means to access it, and that it adequately meets the individual’s dietary needs. We shall ensure that our programmes enhance synergies and share goals with both domestic and global efforts towards zero hunger by 2030. In order to advance the right to food in Uganda, we will promote sustainable farming and food systems as a center to our programmes in the life of our 5 Year Strategic Plan.

Programme Sustainability

The main funding source for Food Rights Alliance is grants from donors. To ensure we expand and continue to grow smoothly, FRA is expanding her resource mobilisation mechanism and social enterprises while providing options for present and future food needs of all people. We continue to Increase and diversify our funding base while establishing and growing social food enterprises, strengthening marketing and enhancing visibility of the Alliance.
