Public Finance Investment
Promoting Efficient And Effective Public Finance Investment In The Agricultural Sector
Trust Africa Foundation
With a significant basing on the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) - Africa’s policy framework for agricultural transformation, wealth creation, food security and nutrition, economic growth and prosperity for all, this project seeks to strengthen the Non-State Actors working group on Agricultural Extension (NSAs) into a vibrant and inclusive movement of multi stakeholders.
FRA through this project seeks to enhance capacity the these NSAs including CSOs, farmers’ organisations, private sector, media and academia in budget analysis, evidence based planning, reporting and accountability. With this, NSAs ably and constructively review, dialogue and foster mutual accountability to address public and private sector investment in agricultural extension and input distribution in the context of the National Budget, National Agriculture Investment Plan (NAIP) and the Malabo commitments.
This project has also fostered creation of spaces for engagement with policy makers within the agricultural sector at both and national and regional (East Africa) level including co-organizing the 2018 and the 2019 East Africa Community Agricultural Budget Summits with the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
