What information do we collect?

We collect and store any information which you give us via this website. When you donate, take an online action, sign up for email newsletters or complete any form via this website we will typically ask you for some personal details. The only information we will ask for during this process is your name, address, email address, credit/debit card details and phone number.

We may occasionally ask for supplemental information such as your date of birth, how you heard about us or what motivated you to take action but this will be purely voluntary and will only be used to help us to improve your experience or ensure that we are only contacting you about issues you are interested in.

How do we use it?

Any information we collect about you is used to further our work of the right to food, ending hunger and malnutrition.

Whenever you complete a form on this website, we will ask for your email address so we can send you updates about our work. You will always be given an option to opt-out of receiving email updates about our work straight away by unticking the box next to the email field on the form.

If you decide that you want to receive email updates but change your mind later, you can easily unsubscribe from our email list. Every email we send you will have an unsubscribe link at the bottom where you can remove yourself from our email list with just a few clicks.

Contacting you offline

Whenever you donate to us, your details will be entered into our secure supporter database. From time to time we contact donors on this database via telephone or post to update them on our work. If you do not wish to receive phone calls or mail from us, you can ask to opt-out from these communications. Simply call our Individual Giving team at +256-414-695-518 and they will take steps to ensure you are not contacted in this way again.

Do we ever share your information with third parties?

We never sell or share your data with third parties for commercial use. From time to time, we employ third parties who work on our behalf and we share your data with them in order to carry out fundraising activities. We commit a lot of time to choose our partners carefully make sure they also compliant with the latest data protection regulations as well as the Institute of Fundraising code of conduct.

How secure is my information?

All interactions and transactions which take place on our website are fully secure. Our website has a certified Secure Socket Layers (SSL) certificate. This is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral.

Your financial transactions are managed by payment provider services which also use secure technology systems. We ensure that any other providers use proper security systems. When you make a transaction your data is securely passed to our supporter database which also uses industry standard secure protection systems.
